Seeing God’s Light

Categories: Uncategorized

When I was a kid down inKentucky, we used to walk to one of my uncle’s home and watch Thriller. A good Boris Karloff movie,  a very frightening show back in its day. It was when the TV had its stopping point for the day and made that crazy buzzing sound and broadcasting ended for the day.

Well afterwards we had to walk back down this long dark hill and then around a bend in the road to get back to grandpa’s where we all liked to stay. But on the nights when there was no moon or stars out it was really dark, I mean so dark you couldn’t really see where you were walking. So we would light a match from time to time to see how far we had come. So you just stepped very carefully and hoped one of those mummies didn’t grab you.

It sure was a relief to finally come around the bend in the road where we could see the porch light. It was like everything was going to be well with us. The closer we got to the light the more visible those around us became. So it is with the darkness that every one walks in until we finally see the light of salvation. The Bible says that he has delivered us from darkness and brought us into His marvelous light.

After you walk in the darkness so long it is easier to see things in the dark because we become accustomed to it. We have become so accustomed to the darkness that it doesn’t seem to bother us sometimes.

But seeing God’s light in the light of our salvation is so much greater than anything we have ever known. Those that are lost in darkness need someone to point them to the light. So strike the match and light the way home. It is time to turn the bend and head toward the light! God is waiting for you! God’s Light Is On!
